Formed in 1981 by its founder and current chairman, Keith Miller, the Company has developed a Europe wide reputation for supplying used and nearly new plant and machinery to the construction, farming, forestry and bulk loading industries. Excavators, mobile crushers, mini excavators, mixers, dumpers, hydraulic hammers and dozers… all have been sought, bought and supplied by the Company at one time or other. But the real strength of SCAN-MECH PLANT lays not so much in its versatility, but in it's unique expertise in the supply and repair of loading shovels and dumptrucks. Again, Komatsu, Case, JCB, Hanomag, Hyundai and CAT are all models linked with the Company. But the one name upon which SCAN-MECH PLANT has built its own enviable reputation is that of VOLVO.

Partly because of the Chairman's history as one of the original team who introduced VOLVO to the UK in the 60's, and consolidated its insurmountable premiership status in the 70's and 80's, Scan-Mech Plant aligned itself with a successful product from the word go. Since then, right the way into the new millennium, VOLVO as a product has developed and maintained it's status as market leader, and SCAN-MECH Plant has worked hard to ensure that buyers in the hugely significant used equipment market have had reason to smile just as broadly.
